### Does CasSeed carry out breeding and R&D work?
Yes. CasSeed keeps its research and development running to obtain improved seed varieties. Its R&D and breeding work covers variety development, trial plots and genetic evaluation.
### Will the yields and variety characteristics on the site be the same in every field?
No, the same result should not be expected in every field. Variety characteristics and yield figures shown on the site may vary with trial conditions; soil, climate, sowing date and crop management all affect the outcome.

### How many hybrid maize varieties are there?

### Which crop lines are there besides maize?
Alongside hybrid maize there are the oilseed sunflower, multi-purpose alfalfa and feed barley crop lines; their technical sheets are not yet published. Oilseed Sunflower: BySun and MakroSun varieties. Technical sheets in preparation. Multi-purpose Alfalfa: The perennial forage component of our feed-crop programme. Feed Barley: In growers' fields across Eastern Anatolia with the CHAMPIE variety.
### Which FAO maturity group of maize should I choose?
It depends on the length of the growing season in your area and on your sowing date. Lower FAO numbers (early varieties) suit short seasons and second-crop sowing, while higher FAO numbers (late varieties) suit long-season main-crop sowing.
Each variety sheet states the FAO group. To work out together which variety fits your field, fill in the information request form or give us a call.
### What is the difference between grain maize and silage maize?
Grain maize is grown for its mature kernels, while silage maize is grown so the whole plant can be chopped and ensiled. For grain, kernel yield, dry-down and test weight matter most; for silage, total green and dry matter yield, plant height and foliage become important.
Each variety sheet states whether the variety suits grain, silage or both.
### Should hybrid maize seed be bought again every year?
Yes, that is the recommendation. Hybrid seed is the first generation (F1) produced by crossing two different parent lines. If grain harvested from a hybrid crop is sown again, the plants segregate and lose uniformity in height, maturity and yield.
### Where are the technical sheets for the sunflower, alfalfa and barley varieties?

### How can I find out maize seed prices?
Prices are not published on the site; you can get current pricing and ordering information through the information request form or by phone. Mentioning the variety and planting area speeds up the reply.
### Is there a catalogue comparing all the varieties?
Yes. The catalogue page lists every variety in one table with FAO, CRM, use and plant spacing; you can print it or save it as a PDF with your browser. Write to us for a PDF copy of the printed catalogue.
## Information requests and technical support
### How quickly will I get a reply to my request?

### Can I get technical support for choosing a variety?
Yes. CasSeed offers growers technical consulting, training and after-sales service. If you leave the variety choice empty in the information request form, our agronomist recommends a variety suited to your region.
### What should I include in the information request form?
Your province, the variety or intended use you are interested in (grain or silage), your approximate planting area (decares) and planting season help us tailor the recommendation. The form has three steps and takes about 2 minutes.
You can add details such as soil type, irrigation or last season’s variety in the message field. The planting season can be main crop (April/May) or second crop (June/July).
### What happens after I send an information request?
Your request is saved and you are shown a reference number; just quote it if you call us. Our team reaches you through the channel you chose in the form (phone, WhatsApp or e-mail) and in the time slot you marked as convenient.
### What is the personal data I share in the form used for?
Your personal data is processed with your explicit consent, as described in the Privacy Notice, in order to answer your request. Contact about campaigns and seasonal updates requires a separate checkbox and happens only if you agree.
